Great.Ly February 2015 Update

Hello!

Another month has flown by and we're here on the brink of March - the month which for me is full of celebrations as both my mum and my dad were born in March, plus Mother's Day and a few friend's birthdays thrown in there too!
I also can't wait to see the Easter makes on Great.Ly as i know there'll be some great products coming through from the Makers this month. But before we get ahead of ourselves, i wanted to highlight some of my favourite products that have been added to my Great.Ly store over the last month as there's been some real gems - really hope you like them too!

New Spring Brights

Hello!

I think it's safe to say Spring is well and truly on it's way - i spent last weekend in London visiting one of my best friends (and bridesmaids!) and walking through Victoria park it was such a beautiful sight to see all of the Spring flowers starting to bloom again. I'm partial to a daffodil and being able to buy a bunch for a pound in the supermarkets is a key sign of the change of season for me - they are such a simple and cheap way to brighten up your desk.

There's also been some beautiful florals coming through in Spring Summer collections and my walk has inspired me to share some of my favourites so far with you today...

Wedding Organisers

Hello!

If you've read my previous post last week on organising your desk, you'll know i'm on a mission to get my life organised. This also includes getting down to the nitty gritty of wedding planning.
So far we've booked the venue, the photographer, asked our wedding party and...that's about it really! With just over a year to go, i want to make sure i've got the perfect organiser in place to plan those 12 months. It's really difficult trying to figure out everything you need to think about, particularly as this is the first time i've ever organised a wedding!

I've been searching for a few months now on the high street but have not been able to find anything i particularly like in terms of wedding binders/planners so today i've extended my search and have been pleasantly surprised by these beauties...

Paper Crown + Rifle Paper Co Collaboration

Hello!

It's officially been a week since the launch of Paper Crown and Rifle Paper Co's pop up shop, bringing the designs we already love on our notebooks into our wardrobes. Anna Bond + Lauren Conrad... Pretty bloomin fantastic right!?
Launching a collaboration on both stationery and clothing - this Spring 2015 is surely set to be a winner for our desks and our wardobes! And if you missed the pop-up shop, like me i couldn't quite make it to Los Angeles for the weekend (!), it's also available online this month!!

Spring Clean: 12 Creative Ways To Organise Your Desk

Hello!

I'm sure it's not just me who's noticed it getting lighter in the mornings recently, and starting to see the garden come back to life again with a little sunshine over the weekends. I love Spring, i find it a time when i start having more energy again, feel more motivated to eat all those colourful salads that i've been complaining it's too cold to eat and have a refresh of my wardrobe and home.
It's also a time when i get the tidy bug - my work colleagues experienced this recently when i went on a 'tidy friday' rampage - who knew shredding would be so therapeutic?

The arrival of spring is definitely a great opportunity to get yourself organised, so today i wanted to share with you my 12 favourite creative organising tips and tools to help give your desk (and mind!) a good clear out...

1. Get yourself a peg board! This has been on the top of my shopping list for a long time, but i need to get a little creative first with where i'm actually going to put it - such a great way to get organised creatively!

2. Make the most of free printables! I have a lovely little diary from Hema which i carry everywhere with me, and i've been making sure i'm motivated to stay organised with lots of great free printable content!

3. Build up your storage boxes. I recently purchased some bright yellow cardboard storage boxes from Ikea, which i think would look amazing with these stripy boxes from Rockett St George.

4. Get creative with your pen pots. If you're anything like me you've get pens stuffed in drawers all over the house - i love this take on the tin-can pen pots, a simple but effective DIY!

5. Have the cutest desk accessories possible! I cannot believe i've never come across these before, super cute for holding any important notes, business cards, recipes, photos etc on your desk. Available at Etsy

6. Buy yourself a desk planner. I've really been struggling recently with finding a productive rhythm for blogging and by finally putting my desk planner to use and scheduling it all out, i already feel a million times better. Fox and Star always have great planners and i love this new gold-edged one!

7. Add a little personality to your organising! Who says being tidy has to involve everything being hidden away in boxes? Show off your stationery and your personality by showcasing all your favourite desk accessories in desk boxes and on shelves.

8. DIY boxes for all those paper clips! If you don't fancy having your paperclips and pins all on display though, these really simple DIY boxes are also really beautiful! Full tutorial at Zu

9. Keep on top of it with a to-do list. Sometimes it feels like there's a hundred and one things to do and no time to do it all in - keep yourself focused with a to-do list with achievable goals. This post-it version is a pretty awesome way to do it and easy to make too!

10. Keep motivated with a mood board. If there's one way to make sure you keep yourself organised, it's to make your desk a place you want to be. My mood board is my inspiration and keeping it's surroundings as beautifully organised as possible is on my to do list :)

11. Buy some moveable storage! I have an Ikea version of this shelving unit in my bathroom, which is full of everything from a year's supply of cotton buds, shampoo and moisturiser. However, i love the idea of using it as storage to keep everything tidy and easy to transport in home-office-related-emergencies...

12. Be inspired by others. Now i didn't want to put this one last, but hopefully you've made it this far and are now feeling inspired to organise. Keep that feeling up by following blogs which are great at always sharing inspirational tips and advice on keep yourself organised...Here's just a few that i follow:

Love in Print

Hello,

Perhaps it's because i've found myself getting more and more into the wedding planning or perhaps it's because we're now into that week in February where everyone's preparing for a weekend of either celebrating or avoiding Valentine's Day, but i've really been feeling really very loved recently. Without getting all sentimental and making you nauseous on a Tuesday morning, i'll just say that i'm a very lucky lady.

With all the love in the air, i couldn't help but add a whole bunch of romantic prints to my Great.Ly store this week. It's wonderful to see Great.Ly growing and finding new makers all the time, so please do stop by for a browse if you haven't before too!

My First #PaperHaul Box

Hello!
I can't believe how quickly January has flown by - it has been a rather hectic month and i feel like a pretty bad blogger for only managing one post last week... :(
However somewhere between building wedding planning spreadsheets, challenging myself to a 30 days of yoga, organising a corporate conference and attending the 9-5 i found myself super excited when i arrived home one day to my first #paperhaul box!

Now i was given a sneak peak into what was to come a little while ago and you may remember me mentioning this new subscription box for paper lovers was on the horizon. To receive something through the letterbox that isn't a bill is always a nice surprise and this month's box certainly made me smile.

There were a mixture of contents in the box with stickers, cards, gift tags, poscards and a rather lovely washi tape! I've been trying to figure out what the theme for this box is...i've concluded it might be orange! :)

Anyone who knows me will know that i smiled as soon as i sat the kitten postcard and i've already got the perfect person in mind to send this to too...

I think my favourite items from the box though were the carrot postcard, the supercute foxy stickers and the washi tape. I'm slowly building a rather nice washi collection and this is definitely a nice addition!

And of course, i was super happy to see that for every box sold a 10p donation is being made to a charity that Paper Crush also supports - Post Pals!

Have you subscribed to #paperhaul yet? Would love to know what items you liked this month
